Wirksworth’s Chris Sleath and Ruth Miller took part in the Matthew Walker 10km pudding race on Sunday. Chris completed it in an incredible 32 minutes, 41 seconds, securing 2nd place overall, and Ruth Miller (pictured) ducked in just under 50 minutes with 49:58. Well done both!
This followed another great scattering of Wirksworth runners at various parkruns on the Saturday. Starting locally with Markeaton, Seb Hardy ran 22:47, Chris Hubbard 27:15 and Graham Robinson stuck in his first parkrun of the year as he competes for another podium place in our club league. After another brilliant running year for Graham, annoyingly he was coming back from being ill, so his 23:24 wasn’t really reflective of the talent he’s been showing lately.
Brian Clements ran 24:19 at Bromley, Adam Leighton (21:03) checked out the Endcliffe parkrun, Kate Watson (29:17) was at Killerton, and John Potter ventured to Clumber Park, where 18:30 was enough for 2nd place.
