Wirksworth runnning club’s fourth 1-mile relay race replaced normal Monday night training this week, with 21 club members out in force, either refereeing the race (thank you Bob King and Paul Chirstmas!) or running a mile as fast as they posssibly could on the High Peak trail.  Many club members achieved PBs on the night, in spite of the heat and the dead turn on the course, and once again there were some incredible individual runs.  The race was very close with positions changing about all the time.

Individual one-mile times (if known) with winning team members in bold are Adam Lathbury 6:16, Ben Taylor 6:16, Chad Bean 6:04, Chris Hubbard 7:21, Danielle Brown 7:39, Dave Spencer 6:04, Emma Palfreyman, Greg Kirby 5:52, Jacob Fry 5:49, James Watson 7:00, John Potter 5:20, Kathy Mitchell 8:03, Leonard Foulk 8:35, Liz Abrahams 7:14, Mark Crawshaw 5:59, Ruth Miller 7:22, Stef Brassington 6:36, Tanya Rountree 8:19, Zack Hubbard 6:26

Special thanks go to Ania Ames, who was, once again, kind enough to host a small gathering in her garden after the race, which about 8 of us enjoyed.  Thank you, Ania!

Each club member’s fastest mile also forms a segment in the league.  Please download the club league rules to see how you can start amassing points in the league this year – it’s all up for grabs!
