Five members of Wirksworth Running Club ventured out to Bamford to partake in the first Peak Raid 3 event of the Autumn series, 2020. With a few changes to the normal format, the socially distanced orienteering event was enjoyed by all. For Peter Johnston and Elaine Stone, it was their first Peak Raid event. On finishing with a respectable 320, they discussed their lessons learnt and concluded that they probably could have got 410 points with a little less faffing!  Clare Eardley used her fell racing knowledge of the area to bag herself 290 points, and the pairing of Rachel Hathaway and Emma Roberts scored 220 points, less than they should have scored as they made a map reading error near the end.  It was a great morning out, the next event is on Sunday 11th October at Goyt Valley, it would be great to see a few more WRC members there next time.
