The Wirksworth parkrun faithful chose Bakewell to do battle this week. Star runner this week, Bob King, course PB 19:36 and edging bit by bit towards that 19:30 mark (something he’s already achieved at York it should be said). Not far behind Bob, we’re talking another sub-30 for Jo Butt (29:52) and a comfortable sub-30 for Rachel Hathaway (29:17). Rachel will be experimenting in the coming weeks with the advantage gained by running with one of her dogs, so we will look forward to seeing the results. Brian Clements was taking it easy after having suffered with a bad back, his 29:52 is quite a way off the sub-24s we’ll be seeing from him at Bakewell when he’s fully fit. John Potter was very pleased to clock 18:33, albeit a few seconds off his course PB.
