Wirksworth members were cycling in different directions to different parkruns this week.  Mark Crawshaw and Dave Spencer hopped on their bikes to Bakewell and then hopped off to run some very respectable times.  Mark’s 19:40 was only 10 seconds off his Bakewell best, whilst Dave recorded yet another sub-21 effort with 20:50.  Despite these impressive runs, our star performer at Bakewell this week was Matt Smith, who clocked 23:56, which, when time-adjusted, is about 1 minute quicker than his 25:30 at Markeaton (equivalent to 24:53 at Bakewell) from 2 weeks ago – well done, Matt!

PBs were also there for the taking at Markeaton this week.  John Potter’s bike ride south to parkrun was a bit easier than Mark’s and Dave’s ride north and he made use of the saved energy by running another course PB (18:19).  Sarah Chamberlain prefered to keep her fans on the edge of their seats this week, sneaking her course PB by 1 second (28:12), as she ran proudly sporting her new WRC vest!

Brian Clements (pictured) was pace setting down at the Crystal Palace parkrun and did a fine job of the 25:00 that he was asked to perform.
