Bad weather and a rugby world cup final kept the numbers down at quite a few parkruns this week but WRC members were still out and about, running extremely well. Excitingly, we start in Kiev (pictured), where Mark Crawshaw continued his fine recent running form with a podium place at the Trukhauiv Island runday (Ukraine’s answer to parkrun). Mark’s 19:51 was easily enough for 3rd place. John Potter was also on the road, getting drenched whilst cycling to the hilly and scenic Wyre Forest parkrun in Staffordshire. John’s 19:31 saw him record only his second ever UK parkrun win, ample compensation for the cold, wet gloves and socks!
Closer to home, Bob King was running very strongly at the Bakewell parkrun; his 19:31 saw him safely into the top 10 finishers there, Bob finished in 9th place.
Ceri Stewart still proudly runs for Wirksworth at the Newborough Forest parkrun in Wales. Ceri has been running massive parkrun PBs of late, winning parkrun last week (men and women) with 19:02, and coming 3rd this week with 19:18!
