Markeaton was cancelled this week, so 3 Wirksworth runners headed to the fast Long Eaton course, where it was very hot by 9am already!  Despite the heat, John Potter ran a lifetime PB of 18:06, which he was thrilled to bits with.  Both Mark Crawshaw and Dave Spencer were running mindful of injuries that they’re trying to finally shake off so neither were at full throttle but Mark’s 19:48 and Dave’s 21:07 are hardly the times of slow coaches!

On the road, Brian Clements put in a very strong performance at the Crystal Palace parkrun.  His 24:31 was only 32 seconds off his PB.  Meanwhile, Steph Solomon was taking on the Yeovil Montacute parkrun, a tough course, which she navigated in a very impressive 25:41.  Like Dave and Mark, Stacy Newton was running mindful of a slight niggle (a dodgy right ankle in Stacy’s case), but he still went round Stratford-upon-Avon parkrun in 21:59.

Imagine what Wirksworth running club is going to do one week at parkrun when everyone is fit!
