Four Wirksworth members made it down to Markeaton this week and there were some good runs. Adam Leighton’s PBs are becoming the norm – he shaved another 15 seconds off his Markeaton best, he’s now down to 21:31. Kate Watson has been busy lately studying for her A levels, yet she still managed to blast away the revision cobwebs and record a very respectable 25:03, albeit a couple of minutes off her recent best. Brian Clements (29:37) took a week off from blasting another impressive sub-24 run to try and pace Sarah Chamberlain, who came home in 29:36 – Sarah has run under 30 minutes at Markeaton 3 times now.
On the road, John Potter’s 19:26 at the Ford parkrun in the Lake District (pictured) was enough for 2nd place – Ford is a tough course featuring 4 dead turns on each loop of a 4-loop hilly course, so he was very pleased to keep his time in the same ball park as his recent times. Ceri Stewart (22:29) ran her 9th parkrun at Newborough Forest as she continues to proudly represent Wirksworth in Wales.
