The long wait for an official parkrun was finally over this morning and 3 Wirksworth runners went down to Markeaton to celebrate. Mark Crawshaw took it easy and went round in 27:45 whilst James Watson’s 23:12 was a bit more of an effort – James had cycled there with John Potter, whose 18:09 PB was enough for 3rd place.
Tanya Rountree (pictured with son Aiden) was down in Devon at the Plymvalley parkrun. Tanya took it easy in 35:05. Tanya writes “A lovely 1.5 laps along a mill canal, with a steep climb (twice!), a viaduct and some wooded, wide, rocky and muddy tracks. Really friendly locals, small crowd, relaxed and inclusive. Excellent coffee/ice cream van at the finish”
Meanwhile, Brian Clements was down at the Crystal Palace parkrun, putting together a respectable 27:09. Brian hasn’t been living in WIrksworth for a while but everyone at the club is hoping to see him back in the near future.
