Wirksworth’s Stef Brassington finished 15th overall, 4th female and comfortably winning her age group in the Carsington Water 10km on Sunday, in a time of 48:00. Alex Howard ran a very impressive 1:45:34 in the half marathon, which secured him 44th place in a very competitive field. John Potter competed the 10km races on both the Saturday and the Sunday, with his 43:12 winning him his age group on the Saturday and his 41:58 on the Sunday being enough to secure 2nd place overall.
Meanwhile, Wirksworth’s Emma Palfreyman (25:47 at Cannock Chase), Mark Crawshaw (21:28 at Monsal Trail), Laura Jones (44:02 at Markeaton), and Brian Clements (25:56 at Crystal Palace) were flying the flag for Wirksworth at Parkrun events on Saturday.
