More course PBs this week at Bakewell, Bob King and Tanya Rountree both ran superbly off the back of the WRC sports day. Bob’s 19:26 was only 2 seconds off his best ever parkrun, which he achieved on the much easier course at York. So, Bob is surely starting to eye up the possibility of a sub-19 at Long Eaton. Tanya’s 26:35 knocked 30 seconds off her previous best at Bakewell and was close to her all-time PB of 26:24, which she set at the harder Markeaton course.
On the road, Brian Clements was down at Crystal Palace, running a solid 26:18, whilst John Potter briefly led the Bodelwyddan Castle parkrun (pictured) for about 300 metres at the 3km mark before being comprehensively dropped into the 2nd spot that he managed to cling on to with 19:46. Bodelwyddan Castle is a tough but beautiful course and well worth a visit if you’re in north Wales on a Saturday morining.
