The final parkrun of 2018 and Wirksworth runners finished with a flourish. Our star runner this week was Tanya Rountree, with a massive lifetime PB at the Swansea Bay parkrun, 26:28, a whopping 1 minute 50 seconds faster than her previous best – in this form, we’re surely going to be seeing her bring home a few sub-28s at Markeaton next year! Bob King was also doing us proud at Markeaton, running a pretty speedy 20:06, especially considering his hangover and “belly full of pigs-in-blankets”. Three others went to a busy Bakewell to face a bit of a headwind on the way out. Tom Gillot ran his first ever parkrun in a very respectable 28:38, whilst Chris Gillot put in a solid 22:57 as he continues his return from injury. John Potter managed to sneak in one last Bakewell PB for the year with 18:26. Bring on 2019!
