Emma and Tanya took on the annual Tara Kinder Memorial 10k on a “damp” Friday night. It is a flat three lap course through the beautiful grounds of Elvaston Castle. Really popular with local running clubs, we were surrounded by hundreds of club vests and had lots of encouraging comments from other club members and lots of clapping from the crowd.
The Marshalls were fantastic and on another level; cow bells, music blasting Ace of Spades, banners declaring wine would be ours later! By the third lap we weren’t looking at the clock tower, cricket pitch and flowers but instead were focusing – it paid off with 1:10 and 1:08 which for a “damp” Friday night in Derby isn’t bad 😊 The “medal” was a microfibre towel which we were very chuffed with and a swizzles lollipop 🍭
