First to Markeaton, where Elaine Stone set herself a very respectable marker of 24:36, smashing her intended first target of 25 minutes – there’s much more too to come from Elaine this year. John Potter’s 18:52 was close enough to his Markeaton PB, he’ll blame the extra 6 seconds on having cycled there (he only ever cycles there so that he can use this excuse!). Last but not least, club newcomer, Adam Leighton ran his first ever parkrun in 23:45 – welcome to the club, Adam!
Much more exciting than this though was the spread of Wirksworth runners around the land, banking their 10 club vest points for the 5km distance. James Watson came 11th overall at Holkham with 22:19, his highest ever parkrun finish(!), whilst Tanya Rountree (pictured) was mixing it up with the squaddies down in Andover, clocking a solid 28:26.
