Just 1 week to the Undulator

We’ve made it past storm Callum and the weather is forecast to be a lot kinder to us this week.  The Undulator course should just about have dried out by next weekend! Register early here and save yourself the queuing time and the organisers the typing...

And last week….

There was a pause from the weekend parkrun ritual as people set off in pursuit of 10km times.  It’s a bit strange to see WRC vests fighting it out on the flat but John Potter fought particularly well and smashed his PB at Tamworth, not only breaking 40 minutes...

Not last week but the week before….

… the Parkrun journey continued.  Brian reports from his pb weekend. There is no better way to start the weekend (with or without hangovers) than setting off from Wirksworth at 8ish on a Saturday morning to Markeaton Park Run. Last weekend was a Personal Best...

The Undulator

It only feels like a week ago that we were talking about a WRC hill race and here we are, talking about another.  This time it’s the Stuart Learmouth Memorial Undulator, 8.4 miles taking us from the centre of Wirksworth to the the trig point on Harborough rocks...
T’Owd Man 2018.

T’Owd Man 2018.

Another week, another PB.  This time at Bakewell.  Mark Crawshaw carried his heavy cold to another PB in 19:53.  He was outdone though, as Bob King joined the sub 20 gang with a sparkling 19:40! Meanwhile, John Potter was preparing to cycle from Lancaster back home to...

Keeping up with Kipchoge

Something momentous happened in Berlin today.  Peter Johnston got his mojo back.  He produced his best marathon performance of the year to cross the line in 3:24:58 and all of a sudden, Berlin 2019 seems like a good time to break his pb of 3:11.  One more Berlin...
Stanage Struggling

Stanage Struggling

Not content with his pb setting performance on Saturday, Mark headed off to Stanage struggle on Sunday, taking along Stacy Newton as a fresh face to fell running.  Mark, as always, took it all in his stride.  Stacy soon discovered that, surprisingly, downhill can be...

Parkrunning

There were some cracking performances for WRC at Markeaton park run this week. Perhaps because it wasn’t in the middle of the John Potter duathlon (TM). John came ever closer to sub 19 with his time of 19:15 and finished in 8th place overall. Mark broke the 20...
